
CapitaRetail China Trust (CRCT) is the first pure-play China retail real estate investment trust listed on the mainboard of the Singapore stock exchange (SGX). It was established with the goal of investing on a long-term basis in a diversified portfolio of income-producing real estate used for retail purposes and mainly located in China, Hong Kong and Macau. The manager of CRCT is CapitaRetail China Trust Management Limited, which is an indirect wholly-owned subsidiary of CapitaLand Limited. CRCT's initial portfolio of seven retail malls is spreaded across mainland China, including Beijing, Shanghai, Anhui, Henan and Inner Mongolia. The portfolio, valued at around S$690 million, is anchored by major international and domestic retailers, such as Wal-Mart, Carrefour and the Beijing Hualian Group. The Properties are positioned as one-stop family-oriented shopping, dining and entertainment destinations for the sizeable population catchment areas in which they are located.
CRCT strong share price performance is supported by Capitaland's large proprietary pipeline of assets. CRCT has huge potential for capital appreciation helped by the economic growth in China and rising need of high quality malls by the growing middle class.
